Why would you worry about AI? Cut the power man and show Opus who is the boss

I am concerned about my job prospects in the age of AI, where I stand and what I need to do in my career. Whatever I thought a few years ago does not exist, and that is a very scary feeling.

AI exposed my whole identity to being nothing now.

Frontier models are improving at breakneck speed, and with each iteration the previous flaws and workflows are being fixed. AI hallucination has been almost solved. Models are getting faster and cheaper.

The models are more intelligent than an individual, but collectively we are still marginally ahead, at least for a few more months.

So now we are at a stage in time where intelligence is a monthly subscription. The edge of being intelligent evaporated in the last year. The field is level now, but the number of people succeeding will remain the same, because intelligence was never the bottleneck. Instead it’s a function of a few things:

  1. Public experimentation
  2. Courage of being yourself
  3. Adapting to changes
  4. Curiosity
  5. High energy

I never started a blog, never recorded a video, as I always felt I was not ready. I don’t know anything, there are more intelligent people than me in the world. But if intelligence was always a training away from being solved and I still did not put myself out there, then I am fooling myself. As Richard Feynman said:

“You must not fool yourself, and you are the easiest person to fool.”

The problem was the fear of being seen and people rejecting me.

I am not static. I need to do stuff my own way; there is no authority to tell me what is correct. I reject the programming that I need permission or a certain level of authority to do something. I will be myself.

I am blessed and I will figure it out. I trust myself.
